Associate Product Specialist

Associate Product Specialists are key contributors during the sales process through their demonstration of our client's Solutions. This position will play a critical role in securing new business. The Associate Product Specialist will preform product demonstrations as and when needed, in support of sales and marketing activities. Product and solution demonstrations may involve partner engagement and incorporating new concepts into the demo kit. This role will be responsible of maintaining a demonstration environment which showcases all our client's product lines and applications including partner solutions. The Associate Product Specialist will work in close collaboration with seasoned Product Specialists, and Solution Directors, and assist them with product demonstrations and proof of concept testing during the sales process. The Associate Product Specialist must be able to identify technical issues of assigned opportunities to assure a successful demonstration.

  • Develop a strong technical understanding of client products.
  • Assist with design and maintainenance of the client product demonstration environments and deliver powerful demonstrations that emphasize our value to the customer.
  • Maintain demonstration environment which showcases all client product lines and applications. Ongoing maintenance includes software upgrades, firmware upgrades, incorporation of new products and integration of applications to illustrate the total end to end Energy Management Solution.
  • Maintain mobile system demonstration kits for Solution Directors.
  • Maintain procedures and processes for demo engagement; shipping/tracking packages, managing device inventory, updating stakeholders on the progress.
  • Maintain demonstration system for industry trade shows and attend each trade show to conduct demonstrations in the client booth.
  • Conduct demonstrations for prospective customers during the sales process.
  • Commission POC (Proof of Concepts) at customer locations.
  • Collaborate with Global Reseach and Development teams, and third-party solution providers for POCs and other ad-hoc solution demonstrations.
  • Create and maintain documentation and test scripts for demonstration system and POCs

Required Skills

  • Effective oral and written communication skills; strong presentation skills
  • Organized and analytical; able to eliminate technical obstacles through creative and adaptive approaches
  • Ability to work under moderate guidance from senior team members and as a direct or virtual team member to successfully achieve objectives
  • Experience with Microsoft, UNIX and Linux operating systems
  • Experience with Oracle and SQL databases
  • Experience with Windows, Oracle WebLogic Sever, and IBM WebSphere Application Servers
  • Experience developing applications and writing code and scripts that interface with various data sources and systems using standard and/or custom protocols is desired  
  • Understanding of OSI networking layers and how they relate in a production environment
  • Experience with Ethernet based networks, TCP/IP, UDP; IP subnets and routing;
  • Experience with IP network management software applications
  • Knowledge of network security (firewall, IPS, network admission control)
  • Knowledge of networking protocols: HTTP, DNS, FTP, SSH, TCP/IP, LDAP, WCCP, SMTP
  • Excellent computer skills including the ability to utilize Excel, Word, Outlook, etc
  • Self-starter, high goal achiever, high energy individual with a positive attitude, realizing that consistent personalized focused activity will drive success.
  • Experience in customer facing role(s) and ability to speak multi languages are plus
  • Valid driver’s license and passport

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (EE/CS) from a four-year college or equivalent associates degree
  • Proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Internet Explorer and CRM (customer relationship databases).
  • Experience working in an interactive customer facing position is plus.
  • Oracle, Microsoft and Cisco Certification are desirable.
