Prestige Staffing is looking for an experienced Early-Out Medical Collector for a very stable and growing hospital vendor.  This is a contract to permanent position. Successful collectors earn a great monthly commission based on hitting individual and group goals.

Job Summary:         

This position is responsible for providing customer service and collections services to Early-Out clients, patients and guarantors.  This position will serve to review, follow-up and resolve patient account balances.  The position will be acting as the specified client and will adhere to all policies and procedures of the client.  The position requires full knowledge of current laws and procedures as well as skills in reading and comprehending complex materials involving healthcare account balances.  The Patient Account Specialist, Early-Out must comply with FDCPA, FCRA and HIPAA regulations and have a full understanding of them. Functioning as the Patient Account Specialist, Early-Out requires a professional attitude and demeanor with clients, patients,  third party agencies and co-workers.

Primary Job Duties:

  • Review and evaluate assigned account files for appropriate collection action.
  • Manage work flows and time to maximize recoveries and ensure client and patient satisfaction.
  • Work with patient/guarantor, insurance companies and/or other third parties to negotiate, arrange and monitor payment plans.
  • Prepare and process patient payments using the client systems as available
  • Research and verify debtor insurance eligibility, skip tracing debtors as necessary.
  • Obtain documentation from clients concerning accounts that are being considered for insurance filing or litigation including information about the debtor, invoices, statements, contracts, promissory notes, payments and other related correspondence.


*High school diploma

*College-level courses in insurance, coding or other healthcare billing education preferred.

*Certificate:  Must be ACA Certified after six months of employment.


*Two years of collection and/or insurance experience preferred with related work history and references.

 *Meditech experience helpful


  • MS Office skills Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
  • Interpersonal skills along with good telephone etiquette

  • Able to communicate well on a one-on-one basis on the phone
  • Possess an analytical and logical mind, able to recognize and evaluate relevant facts and legal concepts.
