Job Description

We are looking for a unique Senior Network Adminstrator talent to join our IT Operations team and be responsible for managing and supporting our network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will work to ensure the ongoing stability and integrity of our networking infrastructure across two data centers which hosts our industry-leading financial software.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Administer and support a Cisco-based Software Defined Network
  • Serve as liaison with our local and corporate Information Security team to ensure our infrastructure is secure
  • Leads problem-solving efforts or manages projects that involve outside vendors and other support personnel and/or teams
  • Stays current with technological developments in systems administration technology
  • Work within a small, but highly experienced Operations team which supports our two Data Centers, including LAN/WAN connectivity
  • Collaborate with our Managed Service Provider (MSP) providing augmented monitoring and network support
  • Stays current with technological developments in systems administration technology and recommends ways to take advantage of new technology
  • On Call availability as needed (our MSP provides most of the monitoring and support)

Job Requirements

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Network Engineer or Information Technology or minimum of five (5) years work experience
  • Experience working with Software Defined Networks or equivalent software development experience
  • Strong understanding of network Data and Control Plane constructs
  • Active Cisco CCNP certificate or equivalent work experience
  • Proven experience on how to create different application policies in ACI, including Tenants, Application Profiles (ANP), End Point Groups (EPG), Contracts, Subjects and Filters
  • Proven experience on Fabric Discovery Activity including Verifying the APIC and LEAF health
  • Experience configuring and deploying enterprise-class networks including Cisco Nexus 9k, 7k, 5k, 2k Switches, Cisco Catalyst Switches, Cisco ASR/ISR Routers
  • Experience with Cisco Firepower Thread Defense and Firepower Management Center
  • Strong understanding of external L2/L3 fabric connectivity and experience in L2/L3 switching architecture design
  • Must have solid understanding in BGP, OSPF, VDC, vPC, VXLAN, ECMP and Fabric Path
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects under a variety of conditions and constraints

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with F5 BigIP load balancers (LTM, GTM, SSL Termination, iRules)
  • Experience authoring Ansible playbooks and Python scripting
  • Experience with VMWare, VSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V or KVM
  • Strong Linux background
  • Strong customer service orientation
