We provide hotels with labor management tools in our easy-to-use, cloud-based software. This includes scheduling, time & attendance, labor monitoring, and more.

Position Summary:

Using a combination of markup languages, design, scripts and frameworks, the operations software engineer will work in a rapidly evolving Engineering environment to support internal customers.

Areas of Responsibility:

  • 50% - Solve tasks and high priority items as they come through our Daily Agent Board.
  • 50% - Build, design, deliver, and support devops related features associated with our AWS environment and build processes.

Specific Position Tasks:

Daily Agent

  • Provide prompt response to tickets as they come in from internal teams.
  • Debug and diagnose production level bugs related to systems, software and data.
  • Build and produce custom exports and reports from our system.
  • Participate in rapidly evolving technical and architectural meetings.
  • Actively participate in all SDLC meetings found in an Agile Scrum environment.
  • Explore new ways to move fast and not break things to help push us further into the CI/CD world.
  • Effectively provide estimates involving time needed to complete stories.

Operations

  • Maintain the highest level of code quality by implementing best software development practices
  • Automate our current build and deployment pipelines
  • Drive our technology stack forward by being a leader, learning and sharer
  • Establish best practice monitoring for system uptime and stability
  • Respond to production level outages in a timely manner, involving any parties needed to resolve the issue.
  • Constantly stay up-to-date on Cloud technologies and AWS products and/or offerings to help plan how to best use such services as we scale moving forward.
  • Work with Product and other Engineers to produce the best product possible.

Core Competencies:

  • Proficient at SQL, AWS, DevOps (required)
  • Proficient at building intelligent solutions to complex problems
  • Proficient at managing one’s own time.

Required Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor of Computer Science or equivalent
  • 3+ Years of SQL writing and diagnosing complex statements (required)
  • 2+ Years AWS ops and delivery of applications (required)

Preferred Education & Experience

  • Experience with Jenkins or similar build technology
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services
  • Experience in server side technology a plus
  • Experience in sql or database work a plus
