Prestige Staffing is looking for an extremely detailed candidate for a Physician Scheduling Coordinator. This is a contract to hire position for the right individual. Would love someone who has worked in Qgenda and has experience they are coordinating doctor's schedules to ensure the doctor shows up at the right location on the right day for the right procedure. This is the first step in making sure billing is done properly for the right doc and right dept.  This is not a patient access role nor a surgery scheduler role. 


  • Monday - Friday position
  • 7:30-9am start time for an 8 hour work day

  • Responsible for electronically maintaining monthly master schedules for approximately 200 Faculty and Anesthesiologist using an in-house scheduling program in order to insure appropriate staffing levels across multiple locations on a 24-hour basis.
  • Produces productivity reports and reports on various metrics.
  • Provides support for clinical operations projects.
  • Build and maintain monthly operating room master schedules electronically and verify sessions worked.
  • Modifies master schedules to accommodate time off requests, meeting days, academic days and leaves of absences
  • Builds and maintains monthly on call schedules
  • Maintains a record of absenteeism and reports excessive absences
  • Takes call ins while on duty and finds replacement for staff call offs.
  • After comparing the master schedule with the daily schedule, updates the master schedule with changes on a daily basis.
  • Coordinates schedule changes with the Chiefs of Service 
  • Generates and maintains a variety of reports.
  • Analyzes data as requested
  • Researches and drafts initial response to scheduling discrepancies 


  • Associate's degree in business/office management or related field or equivalent education or experience will be considered.
  • 4 years work experience in either: staffing, scheduling, customer service, healthcare administration, or human resources.
  • Must have experience creating staff deployment schedules each day to cover cases
  • Able to pass a criminal background and drug test (including tobacco)
  • Very detailed oriented
  • Must be flexible to move from one task to another and back
  • Will work a lot with paper and changing of orders sometimes last minute
  • Able to work in a fast paced environment
  • Must have worked in Qgenda or simiar software to coordinate schedules
  • Very professional and articulate in demeanor and communication
  •  Understands perioperative surgery schedules
  • Prefer someone who has worked in surgery or anesthesia department
