We are seeking a candidate who has extensive knowledge of ServiceNow. Primary responsibilities will be a platform architect and developer primarily for expanding the current capabilities while maintaining an architecture optimized for scalability. The candidate must be able to provide mastery of ServiceNow development and administration, as well as possess the skills and essential knowledge necessary to manage the configuration, implementation and maintenance of the ServiceNow platform. The Developer is a senior technical resource that possesses advanced administration capability and is able to design, build, and customize ServiceNow applications and services. The Developer works across applications, delivers new functionality and innovative solutions, and supports the entire development life cycle. The Developer must have a software development background, enhanced by Advanced System Administration, JavaScript experience, and Application Creation in ServiceNow.

The candidate will be responsible for managing deployed modules and services deployed with the platform and could include Incident Management, Problem Management, Major Incident Management, Idea / Demand Management, Project and Portfolio Management, Change Management, Discovery, Software Asset Management, Hardware Asset Management, Knowledge Management, CMDB, Service Catalog, Self-Service Portal, Vulnerability Management and Security Incident Response Management. In addition, there are several integrations with external systems such as Azure DevOps and others that need to be either created or supported.


  • Formulate and define specifications and modifications for the ServiceNow platform in terms of business needs and applying that to Enterprise organizational objectives
  • Provide technical leadership for planning, designing, upgrading,installing, testing, implementing, documenting, and maintaining the ServiceNow platform
  • Provide coding standards and review of content provided by extended development team to ensure compliance with those standards
  • Evaluate current business practices with emerging technology and recommend relevant process enhancements and products that anticipate or complement corporate direction
  • Evaluate ServiceNow platform performance, isolate and debug software problems, and make recommendations for problem resolution
  • Design and develop new ServiceNow applications and services
  • Provide subject matter expertise to the ServiceNow application, and ability to implement modules and other third-party integrations and applications used within the environment to ServiceNow for SecDevOps.
  • Transform business needs from the customer to tangible items within ServiceNow, from using modules available to the platform or creating new modules
  • Complete detailed documentation for workflows and services implemented within ServiceNow


  • Due to Federal requirements, candidate must be a US citizen
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, 8 years of additional related work experience may be substituted for degree
  • 10+ years of experience as an analyst or developer
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience developing and maintaining multiple ServiceNow instances
  • ServiceNow System Administration Certification preferred
  • ITIL Certification preferred
  • Ability to customize workflows, Business Rules, and UI Scripts using JavaScript to create custom applications and configurations on the ServiceNow platform
  • Ability to create detailed documentation for the platform and items implemented
  • Excellent communication skills with Lines of Business/C-level staff, as well as other technical and non-technical staff is a must
  • Must be able to train end user staff on using the platform appropriately
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction providing technical and non-technical support to multiple users
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and under pressure, time management skills are a must
