Prestige Staffing is looking for a permanent Staff Pharmacist for a Monday - Friday 8:30-5:00 for an inner office infusion center. 

 Summary: Under moderate direction, coordinates and supervises the preparation of sterile admixtures, provision of supplies, equipment, and pharmaceutical care.

Requirements:

• Current licensure in Georgia as a registered pharmacist and in good standing

  •  2+ experience in infusion therapy in hospital, home care, or ambulatory care.

  • Strong knowledge base in intravenous admixture, infusion therapy, infectious disease principles, applicable
    laws, and related standards of practice,

  • Experience supervising sterile preparation processes.

  • Able to work as a team player and be flexible.

  • Able to pass a criminal background and drug test

  • Able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with staff, patients, and management.

  • Able to organize, plan, time manage, and problem--solve.

  • Participates in state-affiliated or national professional societies (i.e. GSHP, ASHP)

  • Dependable in attendance and job performance.

 Responsibilities_

  • Ensures compliance with all applicable policies, laws, regulations, and practice standards, including USP
    .

  •  Supervises pharmacy technician(s).

  • Works with practice and infusion center staff to assure timely coordination of pharmacy services for
    infusion center and home care patients.

  • Receives, reviews, and verifies all new infusion orders.

  • Conducts initial and ongoing patient assessments as related to ongoing patient infusion needs.  Patient
    assessment includes evaluation of drug therapy effectiveness, side effects, adverse effects, potential
    interactions, drug duplication, adherence, appropriateness of the administration environment, and changes in pat
    patient condition preventing continued administration.

  • Conducts initial and ongoing patient assessments as related to ongoing patient infusion needs.  Patient
    assessment includes evaluation of drug therapy effectiveness, side effects, adverse effects, potential
    interactions, drug duplication, adherence, appropriateness of the administration environment, and changes in patient condition preventing continues administration.

  • Performs job functions of the pharmacy technician as necessary and in their absence.

  • Coordinates, and supervises all sterile preparation

  • May participate in quarterly inventory of drugs and supplies.

  • Programs the infusion control devices, as necessary.

  • Checks all sterile preparations, supplies, and equipment prior to dispensing to patient care,

  • Prepares I.V. admixtures, as necessary.

  • Maintains thorough and appropriate documentation in the patient record of all patient-specific evaluation, preparation, and dispensing activities.  Documents related communication with patients, physicians, and nurses.

  •  Participates in in-service programs and may present in-service programs.

  • Participates in intra-departmental meetings as required.

  • Follows the channel of authority and communication.

  • Participates in the on-call schedule, as needed for home care patients.

  • Serves as pharmacy leader in the temporary absence of the Pharmacist-in-Charge.

  • Performs job functions of the pharmacy technician as necessary and in their absence.
