Inpatient Coding Auditor
Inpatient Coding Auditor (CCS, RHIT, RHIA)
Location: Remote / Facility is in Knoxville
Job Type: Direct Hire
Salary: 25-32/hr depending on experience
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Inpatient Coding Auditor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in inpatient coding and hold relevant certifications, including RHIT or RHIA, and CCS from AAPC. This role involves auditing a team of 33 inpatient coders, sharing results, and providing educational sessions to enhance coding accuracy and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct audits of inpatient coding performed by a team of 33 coders, ensuring accuracy and adherence to coding guidelines.
- Audit each coder once per quarter, documenting findings and trends.
- Share audit results with coders, highlighting common issues and areas for improvement.
- Facilitate bimonthly education sessions to address coding challenges and promote best practices.
- Collaborate with coding and compliance teams to implement strategies for enhancing documentation and coding accuracy.
- Stay updated on coding regulations, changes, and best practices to provide informed guidance.
Qualifications:
- Certifications: RHIT or RHIA, and CCS (AAPC) required.
- 3-5 years of acute care coding experience, preferably in an inpatient setting across multiple facilities.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively share feedback and conduct training.
- Proficiency in coding software and databases.
