Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or related field
- 4+ years of experience in claims-based healthcare analytics, especially within payer, provider, or managed care environments
- At least 2 years of professional experience working with Medicare or Medicare Advantage
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerQuery, PowerPivot, PowerBi, and SQL or similar programming languages
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret large datasets and identify actionable insights
- Knowledge of healthcare reimbursement methodologies (e.g., DRGs, CPT codes, bundled payments) and claims processing differences
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and communicate effectively across all organizational levels
Responsibilities
- Extract, manage, and analyze healthcare claims, eligibility, and pharmacy data to identify trends and outliers
- Develop and implement financial models and analytical frameworks for evaluating cost and utilization patterns
- Conduct in-depth research on healthcare data to support cost containment and operational efficiencies
- Use advanced analytics tools to explore large datasets and produce business intelligence and financial forecasts
- Evaluate provider contracts, payer agreements, and vendor relationships for financial impact
- Collaborate with medical management teams to optimize resource allocation based on utilization insights
- Ensure data reporting and analysis compliance with industry regulations and CMS guidelines
- Present complex analysis findings to executive leadership, providing actionable recommendations
