Software Architect
Software Architect
Pay: $150,000
Location: Downtown Austin (Hybrid)
Summary:
Join a dynamic startup as a Software Architect, spearheading the development of cutting-edge POS systems leveraging AI technologies. This role offers the unique opportunity to design scalable, long-term solutions with a focus on system health, observability, and proactive technical management. Collaborate closely with senior leadership, including top-tier CTOs, and utilize AI tools to accelerate development cycles. Engage in cross-platform development, contribute to system improvements, and be a pivotal part of a fast-growing team dedicated to innovation and excellence.
Requirements:
- Extensive experience in software architecture, system-level thinking, and SDLC ownership
- Proficiency with AI engineering tools such as Cursor (preferred), Claude Code, OpenAI Codex
- Strong communication skills for stakeholder engagement
- Hands-on experience with React, APIs, iOS, Kotlin, Python (ability to implement minor cross-platform code changes)
- Experience with on-call rotations and monitoring production issues
- Ability to utilize AI for design, coding, and documentation
- Positive attitude towards shifting tech stacks and continuous improvement
Responsibilities:
- Own end-to-end execution of features from conception through deployment and maintenance
- Collaborate with stakeholders on milestone planning, risk assessments, and issue resolution
- Leverage AI to compress design, accelerate coding, and streamline documentation processes
- Lead pull requests and contribute technical reviews
- Identify areas of technical debt, code churn, and risk, raising awareness proactively
- Manage monitoring of production errors and support troubleshooting efforts
- Promote a culture of best practices, continuous feedback, and team encouragement
- Rotate on-call duties with team members and maintain high system reliability
