Job Summary:

The Pediatric Medical Assistant will provide clinical and administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the pediatric clinic. This role requires a warm and caring individual who enjoys working with children of all ages and can communicate effectively with both young patients and their caregivers.




Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Duties:

  • Greet patients and families in a friendly and professional manner

  • Take and record vital signs, height, weight, head circumference, and other measurements

  • Assist with pediatric procedures and examinations

  • Administer vaccines and medications as directed by the provider

  • Perform vision and hearing screenings

  • Collect and label lab specimens (e.g., throat swabs, urine samples)

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms and equipment

  • Follow infection control and safety protocols

  • Support providers during well-child checks and sick visits

Administrative Duties:

  • Schedule appointments and manage follow-ups

  • Document patient information accurately in the electronic health record (EHR)

  • Prepare charts for patient visits

  • Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries as needed

  • Assist with insurance forms, referrals, and prior authorizations




Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred

  • Current CPR certification (Pediatric CPR preferred)

  • Minimum 1 year experience in pediatrics or a similar clinical setting strongly preferred

  • Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR)
