Medical Assistant

Pay:   $18-20/hr.
Location:  Round Rock, TX

Job Summary:
The ideal candidate will support physicians and healthcare providers in delivering exceptional care to patients experiencing chronic pain. The role requires a combination of administrative and clinical responsibilities, and the ability to maintain a positive, professional environment for patients seeking pain management services.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Greet patients and prepare them for examinations by verifying patient information and documenting medical history.
  • Take and record vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiration rate) and other pertinent health information.
  • Assist in preparing and sterilizing equipment for procedures.
  • Assist in administering injections, performing wound care, or providing other medical treatments as directed by the physician.
  • Ensure patient comfort during procedures and provide support throughout the visit.
  • Assist healthcare providers in pain management procedures and treatments (e.g., injections, physical therapy modalities, etc.).
  • Prepare, set up, and clean examination rooms between patient visits.
  • Conduct basic laboratory tests, including urine tests, EKGs, and other diagnostic assessments as directed.
  • Assist in the documentation and updating of patient records and treatment plans in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Monitor and document patient progress during follow-up visits, ensuring timely communication with physicians.
  • Educate patients about their conditions, treatment plans, and prescribed pain management techniques.
  • Provide clear instructions for at-home care, medication adherence, and follow-up appointments.
  • Act as a liaison between patients and the medical team to ensure effective communication regarding care instructions and any changes to treatment plans.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program required.
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA) is a plus, but not required.
  • Previous experience in a medical setting, preferably in pain management, orthopedics, or similar specialties.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, patient care procedures, and safety protocols.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a caring, patient-centered approach.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems and basic office software (Microsoft Office, etc.).
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and adapt to a fast-paced setting.
