Medical Assistant - Flintstone, Ga
Medical Assistant – Primary Care
We’re looking for a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our busy primary care team, supporting both clinical care and front office operations. This essential role helps ensure efficient patient flow, accurate documentation, and high-quality care as part of a collaborative healthcare environment.
Location: Flintstone, GA or Lafayette, GA
Pay: $18-20/hr+
Job Type: Contract to hire
Required Specialty Experience: Internal Medicine, Primary Care, Urgent Care, Chronic Care, Cardio, Gastro, Endo, Onco, OR Urology.
Strongly Preferred Skills: eClinicalWorks, EPIC, HEDIS, medication management, injections, phlebotomy, COA documentation, Referrals.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Greet patients and collect key health information, including symptoms, medications, and medical history
- Set up exam rooms and provide support to healthcare providers during procedures and evaluations
- Measure and document vital signs in the electronic medical record (EMR) system
- Relay care plans, follow-up instructions, and visit details to patients clearly and compassionately
- Administer medications, conduct point-of-care tests, and gather lab specimens
- Sanitize equipment and maintain stock of medical supplies in clinical areas
- Assist with appointment scheduling, phone support, and general administrative tasks
- Help onboard and train new staff members and assist with overall clinic flow and support
What We’re Looking For:
- High school diploma or GED required; medical assistant training preferred
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a healthcare or medical office setting
- BLS/CPR certification a plus
- Proficiency with EMRs and common office software (Google Workspace or Microsoft Office)
- Excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to juggle multiple tasks
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medications, and primary care workflows is a bonus
Physical & Work Environment:
- Comfortable standing, walking, and assisting patients throughout the day
- Able to lift up to 15 lbs and use standard medical equipment
- Reliable transportation required; on-site attendance is necessary
