Job Title: Senior Data Engineer – AWS / Data Integration
Location: Charlotte, NC or Raleigh, NC (Hybrid)
Type: Contract (W2 only - Must be US Citizen or GC Holder)

Join a high-impact digital transformation initiative supporting advanced software capabilities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. We're looking for a Senior Data Engineer to lead integration efforts between legacy financial systems and a modern external vendor solution. Ideal candidates will have strong AWS and data engineering expertise.
Key Responsibilities:

Build and maintain data pipelines using AWS tools (Glue, Lambda, S3, EMR, Aurora)

Integrate on-prem systems with cloud-based platforms

Develop and optimize data warehouse solutions and APIs
-
Work with relational databases (Redshift, SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL)
-
Support both real-time and batch data processing
Required Qualifications:

5+ years AWS experience (Glue, Lambda, S3, etc.)

8+ years in data engineering, SQL, and enterprise-scale database design

Experience with SSAS, REST APIs, Kafka (preferably Confluent)

Strong analytical, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills
Preferred Skills:

Python, NodeJS

Power BI, SSRS

Cloud monitoring (CloudWatch, CloudTrail)

Airflow or Step Functions

Secrets Management (Vault, AWS Secrets Manager)

Understanding of DNS, TCP/IP, VPN
