Job Title: Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) - Onsite Employee Health

Location: Normal, IL

Position Summary:

This position offers an opportunity to provide essential emergency medical care and support within an onsite employee health clinic at a major car manufacturing facility. The EMT will be responsible for responding to medical emergencies, providing first aid and basic life support, and assisting with the overall health and safety of the plant's workforce. This role requires a calm demeanor, quick thinking, and the ability to act decisively in emergency situations.

Essential Functions:

• Respond to medical emergencies within the plant, providing rapid assessment and intervention.
• Administer basic life support (BLS), including CPR and AED use.
• Provide first aid and wound care for injuries and illnesses.
• Assess and stabilize patients for transport to higher levels of care, if necessary.
• Assist with pre-employment and annual wellness screenings, including vital sign measurements.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient encounters.
• Monitor and maintain medical supplies and equipment.
• Collaborate with the onsite medical team, including nurses and physicians, to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Assist with safety training and emergency preparedness drills.
• Maintain a clean and organized medical environment.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Knowledge:

• Strong knowledge of basic life support (BLS) and emergency medical procedures.
• Ability to assess and prioritize patient needs in emergency situations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure.
• Proficiency in documenting patient information.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures.
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.

Qualifications/Experience:

• Current and valid EMT certification in [State].
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Experience in emergency medical services or occupational health is preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations is a plus.
