Senior AWS/AI Software Engineer
Location: Charlotte, NC (Hybrid – 2 days onsite)
Schedule: 4x10s (Mon–Thurs)
Contract Length: 3+ years (high likelihood of extension + strong conversion potential)
A large, well-established organization is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join a technology team focused on building new AI-driven internal products. These solutions support operations, analytics, and workforce efficiency across a complex, data-rich environment. This role offers the chance to work on high-impact, modern cloud applications with strong visibility and long-term stability.
What You’ll Do

Design and build new AI-enabled applications and services in an AWS environment.

Develop scalable APIs and backend components using AWS tools including Lambda, Glue, Bedrock, and SageMaker.

Write clean, reliable Python code for automation, data workflows, and AI integrations.

Collaborate with product owners, data engineers, and fellow developers to deliver production-ready tools.

Support infrastructure automation through Terraform and assist in maintaining CI/CD pipelines.

Translate complex requirements into clear, actionable tasks.

Optimize cloud integrations, data pipelines, and system performance.

Provide technical guidance and mentorship as needed.
Required Qualifications

Associate’s degree in IT or related field and 5+ years of experience
OR High School/GED with 6+ years of related experience. -
Strong hands-on experience with AWS development.

Proficiency in Python, Terraform, AWS Lambda, Glue, and API development.

Comfortable working in a fast-paced, data-centric environment.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with AWS Bedrock, SageMaker, or other AI/ML frameworks.

Exposure to agentic AI solutions.

Familiarity with Angular or similar front-end tools (bonus, not required).

Understanding of cloud architecture, security, and DevOps practices.

Experience guiding or mentoring junior developers.

Portfolio showcasing cloud or AI-based projects.
