Senior Design Engineer – Structural & Sheet Metal Enclosures
Location: Schaumburg, IL (Onsite initially, transitioning to 2 days WFH / 3 days onsite)

Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Design Engineer specializing in structural and sheet metal enclosure solutions.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering; Master’s preferred
• At least 10 years of experience in sheet metal and structural steel design
• Proficiency in welding techniques (MIG, TIG, Spot, Plasma, Laser)
• Strong experience in FEA (stress, creep, compression, etc.) using CREO Simulate or Ansys
• Knowledge of ASCE 07 wind and snow loading design & analysis
• Experience with CREO/Windchill (5+ years desired); knowledge of other 3D CAD systems considered
• Ability to develop and interpret structural analysis reports for certification/stamping

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, development, and prototype fabrication of complex enclosure solutions
• Manage multiple projects from concept through to launch
• Provide technical support in metal structural part design and processing
• Create detailed design packages and release documentation
• Develop requirements, analyze product data, and ensure conformance to design criteria
• Maintain and upgrade existing product lines
• Establish and execute test plans, including third-party certifications
• Lead cross-functional teams in design, development, testing, and redesign efforts
