Pay: $16 - $20 per hour

Summary
Seeking a detail-oriented Patient Account Representative to handle insurance follow-up and denial resolution in a physician group business office setting. The role involves reviewing patient accounts, communicating with insurance companies to resolve billing issues, and ensuring proper claim processing. The candidate should possess strong problem-solving, communication, and time management skills, with a focus on accuracy and compliance under federal and state regulations.
Requirements
- Prior experience in insurance follow-up, preferably with physician or hospital claims
- Strong problem-solving and verbal/written communication skills
- Knowledge of payer rules, HIPAA, HCFA, TennCare, and third-party payer requirements
- Ability to review and resolve claims denials and unpaid claims
Responsibilities
- Review patient accounts and verify claim statuses with insurance companies
- Investigate and resolve full or partial claim denials by identifying root causes
- Communicate effectively with insurance payers and patients to facilitate claim resolution
- Collaborate with internal departments to correct billing issues
- Prioritize work based on department productivity and quality standards
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow-up on unresolved claims
