Biller

Position: Outpatient Medical Biller
Location: Atlanta, GA
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8a-5p.
Pay: $21/hr+ 

Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Outpatient Medical Biller to join our colorectal clinic’s administrative team. The ideal candidate will handle all aspects of medical billing, including processing claims, resolving billing discrepancies, and maintaining compliance with insurance and regulatory guidelines. Your expertise will contribute to the seamless operation of our clinic and ensure patients’ billing experiences are accurate and efficient.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare, review, and submit insurance claims for outpatient services in a timely and accurate manner.
• Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility prior to billing procedures.
• Follow up on unpaid claims and resolve billing discrepancies with insurance companies.
• Conduct patient billing and collections, ensuring accuracy and clarity in billing statements.
• Maintain detailed records of patient accounts, payments, and outstanding balances.
• Communicate with patients regarding billing inquiries and provide exceptional customer service.
• Monitor and stay updated on changes in insurance policies, billing codes, and regulatory requirements specific to colorectal services.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and clinic policies.
• Collaborate with medical staff and administrative teams to streamline billing processes.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in medical billing, preferably in an outpatient or specialty clinic setting.
• Proficiency in medical billing software and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
• Strong understanding of CPT and ICD-10 coding for outpatient procedures and services.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and problem-solving abilities when dealing with patients and insurance providers.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and insurance guidelines.
• High school diploma or equivalent; certification in medical billing and coding is preferred.
