Job Title: Accounts Payable Specialist
Employment Type: Full-time



Position Summary

The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for managing the full-cycle accounts payable process, ensuring invoices are processed accurately and on time, and supporting the accounting team with reconciliations and reporting. This role plays a key part in maintaining vendor relationships and supporting the financial operations of the business.



Key Responsibilities

  • Review, code, and process vendor invoices, employee expense reports, and payment requests.

  • Match purchase orders, invoices, and receipts to verify accuracy.

  • Prepare and process payments via check, ACH, and wire transfer on a regular schedule.

  • Reconcile vendor accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

  • Maintain accurate vendor files and ensure proper documentation is stored and organized.

  • Assist with month-end and year-end close by preparing accruals and reconciliations.

  • Provide documentation and support during internal and external audits.

  • Respond to inquiries from vendors and internal departments regarding accounts payable activity.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and accounting standards.



Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred; equivalent work experience accepted.

  • Minimum of 2 years of accounts payable or general accounting experience.

  • Strong knowledge of debits, credits, and general ledger processes.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications; experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite preferred.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

  • Hourly rate: $20–$28 per hour, depending on experience.
