Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

Compensation: Based on experience & certifications $25-35/hr

We’re seeking a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) with specialized experience in billing and coding for Neurology to join our team in a dynamic contract-to-hire capacity. The ideal candidate will have Athenahealth EMR system experience. This role will serve as the key liaison between our internal professional fee coding operations and an external billing company, ensuring seamless communication, accurate claim closure, and compliance with coding rules and regulations. This position will be fully in-office for the first 90 days to ensure proper onboarding and relationship-building with providers. After that, it will transition to a hybrid schedule (2–3 days in office weekly).

Responsibilities:
•     Perform professional fee coding for neurology services using Athenahealth platform
•     Act as the intermediary between internal teams and outsourced billing vendor
•     Manage and work through claims worklists, ensuring timely and accurate resolution
•     Close out claims and perform light payment posting as needed
•     Interpret and apply coding rules and guidelines, advising physicians on what can and cannot be billed
•     Build relationships with providers to understand their workflows and documentation styles
•     Address coding and billing issues with confidence and clarity
•     Learn provider preferences and nuances to ensure accurate and compliant coding

Requirements:
•     Certified Professional Coder (CPC) credential required
•     Strong experience with Athenahealth and neurology coding
•     Deep understanding of professional fee coding and billing workflows
•     Ability to navigate complex claim scenarios and resolve discrepancies
•     Excellent communication skills and a strong personality to advocate for proper coding practices
•     Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment

• Must know CPT, ICD-10 and HCPCS - 3+ years
