Location: Naperville (3 days onsite)
Summary:
Seeking a dynamic Accounting Manager to join a leading corporation with revenues exceeding $1 billion. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead a team in a fast-paced environment, overseeing financial reporting, month-end close, forecasting, and process improvements. The ideal candidate will possess a strong public accounting background, recent management experience, and a strategic mindset to interpret complex data and optimize accounting functions. A CPA or MBA on track is preferred, with proficiency in Power BI and Workday a plus.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA designation preferred or on track to acquire
- 5+ years of experience in public accounting or tax administration
- 2+ years of team management experience, with performance management and training responsibilities
- Experience in financial reporting and GAAP compliance
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Ability to interpret large data sets and complex business processes
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (including Power BI) and basic understanding of Workday
- Excellent communication skills and curiosity to analyze and improve processes
- Experience working in a corporate environment with revenues of $1B or more
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams, foster collaboration, and manage deadlines
Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a team of accountants, promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
- Oversee daily accounting operations, including financial reporting, month-end close, and forecasting
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to analyze variance drivers and prepare data-driven forecasts
- Troubleshoot and enhance system-driven accounting processes for efficiency
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness in financial reports to management and internal partners
- Support audit processes, tax compliance, and internal projects
- Monitor and review month-end closing activities, reconciliations, and balance sheet accuracy
- Drive process improvements by documenting and analyzing workflows
