Clinical Informatics Strategist Registered Nurse

Prestige Staffing is hiring for a permanent role in Chicago, IL. This role is hybrid and will require visiting more than one location within a month. Must currently hold an active RN license in IL and have worked in Cerner EMR recently with project managements and go-live. Will bridge the gap between the clinical team and IT functions.  This is a Mon-Fri role with wonderful benefits. Pay is $120,000 -138,000 based on years of experience and education.

Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with clinical teams and EMR users to understand workflows, gather requirements, and support system improvements.
2. Lead planning, design, development, implementation, maintenance, and evaluation of clinical information systems.
3. Apply clinical knowledge (nursing practice preferred) to ensure EMR functionality aligns with clinical standards and supports high-quality patient care.
4. Analyze current and future departmental workflows to recommend EMR solutions that improve operations.
5. Provide system analysis, database structure development, application testing, and project management support.
6. Serve as first-line support for clinical users, troubleshooting system issues and coordinating workflow changes.
7. Develop and maintain strong relationships with end users to ensure optimal EMR  usage and provide ongoing training and education.
8. Coordinate clinical staff education on EMR systems and updates.
9. Collaborate with clinical and IS teams to identify problems and propose solutions for clinical information needs.
10. Participate in hospital-wide process improvement initiatives related to clinic information systems.
11. Support EMR project oversight, process flow development, and post-implementation coaching for clinicians.
12. Follow through on EMR improvements, system interfaces, workflow enhancements, and related documentation

Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required; Master’s in Clinical Informatics, Nursing Informatics, or Healthcare Informatics preferred.
2. Current RN licensure required and in good standing
3. 5–7  years of clinical experience and able to bridge the gap between clinical and IT
4. 2-3 years of project management including direct experience with EMR implementation, design, or optimization.
5. Recent experience with Cerner EMR is required (1+ years) 
6. 2–3  years of information systems project experience preferred.
7. Strong understanding of clinical workflows, EMR functionalities, and healthcare operations.
8. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; ability to present information effectively.
9. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify optimal EMR build options.
10. Demonstrated project management skills with experience supporting clinical system initiatives.
11. Ability to work collaboratively with clinical leaders, IS analysts, end users, and vendors.
12. Proficiency with EMR systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
13. Ability to travel to multiple facilities and work varied shifts as needed to support go-lives or conversions.
14. Ability to work with confidential patient information and adhere to hospital safety and compliance standards
