Medical Biller

Pay: $16 - $18 per hour

Location: Knoxville, Tennessee On-site

Summary
We are seeking an experienced Medical Biller to manage the full revenue cycle for physician and/or hospital claims, including billing, insurance follow-up, denials, appeals, and customer service with payers. The ideal candidate will have extensive billing experience for physician offices or hospitals and excel in handling claims through all stages to ensure timely reimbursement. Requirements

• Prior experience in physician or hospital billing and revenue cycle management
• Proficiency in claim preparation and submission processes
• Ability to utilize coding systems to assign appropriate codes
• Strong follow-up skills for unpaid or denied claims
• Attention to detail and accuracy in processing healthcare claims
• Ability to navigate an EHR system

Responsibilities

• Review patient records and encounter forms to accurately code diagnoses and procedures
• Prepare and submit electronic or paper claims to insurance carriers and payers
• Verify insurance coverage, eligibility, and benefits prior to submission
• Monitor claim status and follow up on unpaid, denied, or delayed claims
• Contact insurance companies to resolve claim issues and payment discrepancies
• Investigate and resolve claim rejections, coding errors, and other delays
