Summary



Seeking a dedicated and versatile Bilingual Medical Assistant to join a senior-focused primary care clinic in Orlando. This is a 15-week temporary position with the potential to transition to a permanent role for the right candidate. The Medical Assistant will provide clinical and administrative support in a fast-paced healthcare environment, assisting with patient care, documentation, and procedures while delivering exceptional service to an elderly patient population. Fluency in both English and Spanish is required to effectively communicate with patients and staff. The role requires a minimum of 1 year of Medical Assistant experience, familiarity with electronic health records (preferably eCW or EPIC), and the ability to perform clinical duties such as taking vital signs, assisting with exams, administering medications, and supporting diagnostic testing. The position offers competitive pay and the opportunity to grow within a reputable healthcare organization committed to Better Health. No remote work; full on-site engagement in Orlando. The contract duration is 15 weeks, with the possibility of permanent employment for outstanding performers. Work Schedule: 45-minute appointments for new patients and 30-minute for returning patients, with providers seeing 10-12 patients daily. Prior experience in primary care or similar specialties such as cardiology, gastroenterology, endocrinology, oncology, or urology is preferred. No part-time shifts, weekends, or holidays required.


Requirements





- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred (RMA or CMA).
- Minimum of 1 year of Medical Assistant experience.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records systems (eCW or EPIC preferred).
- Experience with injections, phlebotomy, medication administration, and assisting with procedures.
- Knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, and basic medical coding is a plus.
- CPR and IV start certifications are preferred.
- Strong organizational, communication, and patient service skills.
- Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 15 lbs, and operate clinical equipment in a busy clinical setting.
- Must have own transportation and be available to work on-site in Orlando.
- Must pass a 9-panel drug screen and background checks.


Responsibilities



  • Greet and prepare patients for examination, obtain medical history, and record vital signs in the EMR.
  • Assist providers with exams, procedures, and diagnostic testing.
  • Administer medications and injections as directed.
  • Perform phlebotomy, collect and process lab specimens, and operate in-office diagnostic equipment.
  • Document all patient interactions and medical procedures accurately in the electronic medical record.
  • Handle front-desk duties including patient check-in/out, appointment scheduling, and phone triage.
  • Maintain clinical and supply inventory, ensuring cleanliness and sterilization of instruments.
  • Provide patient education and support during procedures.
  • Support the onboarding and training of new team members.
  • Perform additional clerical and clinical duties as assigned to ensure smooth clinic operations.
