Summary
Seeking a seasoned Lead Azure Systems Engineer to drive infrastructure innovation and strategy within a dynamic enterprise environment. This role offers the opportunity to serve as a right-hand to a strong manager, providing technical leadership and strategic guidance in cloud and on-premises infrastructure. As a key contributor, you'll shape the company's long-term technology Landscape, support enterprise security and compliance, and foster growth through automation and best practices.
Requirements
- Minimum of 8+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, systems engineering, or cloud engineering
- At least 2+ years in an AVP or equivalent leadership role
- Extensive expertise with Azure and AWS, including identity management, networking, compute, storage, and automation
- Proven leadership in mentoring teams and influencing architecture decisions
- Deep understanding of virtualization, storage systems, and hybrid cloud integrations
- Experience with automation tools such as Terraform, Azure ARM/Bicep, or CloudFormation
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues
- Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
- Relevant certifications such as Azure Architect Expert or AWS Solutions Architect a plus
- Flexibility to support 24/7 operations and occasional travel as needed
Responsibilities
- Partner with senior leadership to craft and execute strategic infrastructure plans aligned with company goals
- Provide technical guidance across Systems Engineering, Azure Identity, Networking, and IT Operations
- Mentor engineering teams, promote best practices, and support cross-training initiatives
- Foster a culture of innovation through automation, orchestration, and modern infrastructure patterns
- Develop and maintain IT architecture standards, policies, and procedures
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver scalable solutions
- Support disaster recovery and business continuity efforts, including planning and testing
- Evaluate, recommend, and deploy cutting-edge infrastructure technologies
- Perform technical assessments, root cause analyses, and support incident resolution
- Participate in project planning, design reviews, and infrastructure initiatives
- Lead escalation efforts for complex technical issues, partnering for resolution
- Promote cross-team collaboration to ensure cohesive service delivery
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
