Summary:
Prestige Staffing is seeking a compassionate and professional Bilingual Patient Service Representative to join a dedicated team at Northside Hospital Cherokee. This on-site role is central to our Eligibility Enrollment Solutions, working directly with patients to assist with charity care enrollment by guiding them through paperwork and explaining medical concepts in English and Spanish. The ideal candidate will thrive in a patient-facing environment, demonstrating excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing outstanding service. Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of revenue cycle experience in a hospital or vendor setting related to reimbursement
- At least 2 years of recent experience with Georgia Medicaid and disability claims
- Knowledge of community resources and medical terminology
- Fluent in English and Spanish, with strong verbal and written communication skills in both languages
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- Excellent customer service skills and comfortable working closely with patients and healthcare providers
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Windows, and EMR systems (Epic preferred)
- Experience with Gateway and GAMMIS portals is a plus
- Ability to pass drug test, background check, health screening, and immunizations
- Highly detail-oriented and organized
- Comfortable working on the phone and in person to complete paperwork and coordinate patient needs
Responsibilities:
- Organize and process internal documentation and referral sources
- Review referrals daily for eligibility and appropriateness for interviews
- Document all interactions and notes accurately in hospital and company systems
- Conduct patient interviews, explain services, and set clear expectations
- Identify patient needs and refer to appropriate community resources
- Initiate and manage the application process for charity care and Medicaid/Disability claims
- Contact discharged and in-house patients to determine eligibility
- Collaborate with physicians and hospital staff to ensure proper documentation and eligibility
- Overcome objections and assist patients in completing applications accurately
- Maintain data integrity and documentation in electronic systems
- Follow up on accounts to secure all necessary documentation and eligibility
- Submit paperwork and applications to relevant agencies and entities
- Provide exceptional patient relations support and client communication
- Attend team and client meetings as required, addressing concerns and ensuring goals are met
