Summary
Seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to support a busy surgical practice operating Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm. The ideal candidate will assist physicians with patient care, perform clinical duties, and coordinate surgeries within a dynamic healthcare setting. This role requires excellent communication, organization, and teamwork skills, with opportunities to grow within the organization. Familiarity with EMR systems and surgical scheduling is preferred.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Medical Assistant or similar clinical role
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Professional appearance and conduct (scrubs required)
- Knowledge of patient care procedures, vital sign collection, and clinic protocols
- Familiarity with EPIC or similar healthcare software is a plus
- Ability to work effectively under stress and anticipate patient or provider needs
Responsibilities
- Collect and document patient histories in EMR systems accurately
- Perform clinical tasks such as vital signs, lab specimen collection, and assisting in minor surgical procedures
- Prepare exam rooms, ensuring supplies and equipment are ready and maintained
- Assist patients with forms and facilitate the check-out process, including follow-up appointments and referrals
- Schedule surgical procedures, coordinate with physicians and equipment, and verify insurance benefits and pre-certifications
- Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment complying with CDC infection control guidelines
- Perform general administrative duties such as filing, faxing, and managing communications
